My faith is a huge part of who I am. It shapes my daily decisions, my goals, and my perspective. It keeps me grounded in a world whose values are ever shifting. I would be lost without it.
The first weekend of April and the first weekend of October each year are reserved for the semi-annual General Conference of our church. On those weekends, our leaders speak to us from church headquarters in Salt Lake City. Their messages are broadcasted to church members all over the world, allowing us to hear the things that our leaders feel are most important for us to focus on during the following six-month period. We believe that these leaders are called of God and, by extension, also believe that they present the messages in General Conference that He would want us to hear. General Conference weekends are among my favorite weekends of the year.
I spent the past two days listening to eight hours of inspired talks and music from church leaders in this year’s October General Conference. It was a spiritual feast, leaving me inspired to be more faithful, more charitable, and more focused on Christ.
I could not possibly write all of my thoughts about the messages that I heard in one post. I have, however, gathered from around the Internet, several beautiful quotes from the various talks that left a simple, yet powerful impression on my heart. I am excited to share them with you.
I hope that you find inspiration in these beautiful messages, just as I have. If you would like to see these talks in their entirety, visit this page.
This post is part of a 31 day series of small and simple things. You can see the rest of the series here.
