When our son, Andrew, was halfway through his junior year of high school, he started to have thoughts of self-harm that caught him completely off-guard. After meeting with a counselor a short time later, he determined that the unwelcomed thoughts were a manifestation of anxiety.
In the years since then, Andrew has learned how to manage his anxiety in healthy ways. Today on the podcast, he is telling his story, what he has learned from it, and what he believes parents can do to support their kids through anxiety and depression. If you have a child or anyone else in your life who struggles with mental illness, you won’t want to miss this.
